Home Boarding for Dogs
TRAILS FOR TAILS offers a Home Boarding for Dogs service if you are going away on holiday, a business trip, having your house renovated/decorated, moving home or planning a wild party. We provide essential peace of mind knowing that your dog is being cared for in the comfort of our home when you are away for a long or short break. All dogs live as part of our family in our home and we make them feel welcome from the moment they arrive. We have a greyhound called Bradley and he is a very sociable dog who loves the company of other dogs. To help your dog settle and enjoy their stay we ask you to bring their favourite blanket, toy & bed. We will send regular updates including photos by text or email to let you know how your dog is settling in - we find this puts owners minds at ease knowing that their precious pet is also having a well deserved holiday. During their stay your dog will be walked twice daily with our regular dogs in safe country environments or down by the beach. They will have access to our large garden which is safe and secure throughout the day.
We don't accept un-neutered/spayed dogs over the age of 9 month into Daycare, Home Boarding or Group Walks.
Before we accept new clients we will arrange a visit so that we can meet you and your dog and this gives you the opportunity to meet us and ask any questions. All dogs in Daycare and Home Boarding must be up to date with their Booster and Kennel Cough and we ask clients to bring their pets vaccination certificate with them on the first visit. During this visit we will establish your dog's likes and dislikes and get an understanding of his/her character and discuss your requirements. If you decide to make a booking for Home Boarding with us you will need to complete a Dog Boarding Registration form and agree the drop off and pick up days and times.
All bookings for Home Boarding are secured when a 50% deposit (non-refundable) is paid and the balance is payable 4 weeks before your dog comes to stay.
When your dog comes to Home Board with us you will need to bring:
- Vaccination Certificate (this will be returned at the end of the visit)
- Food & Treats
- Lead/Harness & Collar
- Favourite Toys and blanket
- Your dog should have been wormed during the last three months and had a flea treatment during the last four weeks.
TRAILS FOR TAILS is fully insured, police checked and licensed by Lewes District Council. We do recommend that you also have insurance cover for your pet. If your dog becomes ill while staying with us we will take them to your vet but if this is not possible we will take them to our local vet or an emergency vet whichever is appropriate. Vets bills are the owners responsibility.
Please note we do not have dogs dropped off or picked up on Sundays.

Sasha always seems very happy when she goes
to Connie. Sasha is a rescue dog and is quite need. We understand that she is
quite well behaved when she goes to Connie. Sasha is perfectly happy to go back
to Connie's at any time and always trots up her path with a 'waggy tail'.
Connie seems to understand the dogs and their individual needs. She took Sasha
for a day to begin with, and then overnight
with us collecting her early the next morning so that Sasha got the idea that
we would return. She integrated Sasha gradually, and therefore Sasha was not
nervous when we left her for two nights. I would certainly recommend Connie to
anyone who needs their dog looking after for a day or longer. We are more than
happy for Sasha to return to Connie's.

Instinctively when we first met I felt we had made the right choice.
Connie is clearly a natural with our canine friends an the confidence and
authority she gave off left us in no doubt that Ziggy would be in good hands.
He had a great time.

Chris & Kim, Fozzi Sept’14
'Fozzie Dog' has just spent 8 days and nights
at Trails for Tails. He has obviously had a great time and a happy holiday. He
is fitter than he has ever been, must be all those walkies! We were very
impressed with Trails for Tails when we took Fozzie to visit for the first
time. The house was so well organised, clean and full of very happy dogs
playing together. It is obviously a very professional business and a very
animal loving home. We would recommend Trails for Tails to any dog owner who
wants a safe fun place for their dog to stay.
Rachel, Diesal Sept’14
Connie looked after Diesel for us over a long weekend while we were away.
I find her to be a calm and caring woman that has looked after Diesel very well. She has been accommodating to our needs and Diesel's too. He has a condition that needs daily medication and she was happy to administer these. I would highly recommend boarding your dog with Trails For Tails. In all I am glad to have met Connie and find her prices to be reasonable for the care she provides. I would be confident to board Diesel with her again!

this company looks after my dog for day
boarding and overnight stays at least once per month depending on my needs.
Company has a real understanding of dogs and has great communication to us as
the customer. My dog also loves to go there so that is the main thing.

Trails For Tails recently looked after our five year old Westie and initially we were very nervous about our dog being with other people. We have had our five year old Westie a year and she has had three previous owners so abandonment is a real issue for her and along with these fears, she also has some behaviours from mistreatment (occasional yelping, for instance) which can be quite challenging for other people. We needn’t have worried as Trails For Tails alleviated all our anxieties from the outset. We were invited to visit beforehand and were immediately at ease at how incredibly ‘doggy-centred’ the service is, with ample space for all. Reassuringly, Trails For Tails asks for up to date information and proof of vaccinations which again assures you of the service quality and professionalism. Moreover, Trails For Tails took time and effort to know our dog’s idiosyncrasies, personality and temperment to ensure that they could meet her needs and to guarantee compatability with the other boarders. During the boarding, we received texts and picture messages to keep us informed (and again, assured) that all was well. In summary, an amazing service and I am so happy to recommend Trails For Tails and I know that our dog would absolutely welcome a return. A refreshingly top-class service for your precious pooch!

We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Trails For Tails. Our dog was looked after in a professional, intelligent and above all affectionate way. We were very impressed with Connie's attention to vaccination certificates and thoughtfulness to us, the anxious owners.

Trails for Tails looked after our Jack Russell, Hugo, while we were on holiday for 12 days last year. We've always been reluctant to leave him in kennels, as he's an affectionate dog who needs to be in a real family atmosphere. Connie certainly provided this - and more. Throughout our holiday we received pictures of Hugo, showing him playing in the garden, snoozing on the bed and generally having a whale of a time. An excellent service - we have just booked Hugo in for another week.

I cannot thank Connie and family enough for taking the worry out of leaving our 11yr old German Sheppard. He was well looked after , being part of the family over Christmas, he was happy and we were kept up to date with photos and news by email. We will definitely leave him with Connie again knowing that he is happy, well cared for, which gives us 100 percent peace of mind. Highly recommended !

Every trip to Connie's has Alfie straining at the leash to get in. Hardly surprising as Connie's warm, confident approach makes us both feel at home. I have no fears in leaving him - he gets straight in with the action with his well remembered pals and I'm seemingly forgotten about in an instant. He doesn't ever bother to come and say goodbye. It goes without saying he gets first class treatment in a superb environment and I suspect at times has more fun than being at home with us. Connie is a wonderful, thoughtful, caring, professional. Alfie always arrives home clean, well and happy. I have a sneaking suspicion that there will come a time when we go to collect him he will refuse to leave.
